Jamie Keever, RD, LD, CEDS is a Registered/Licensed Dietitian, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, and the owner of EMPOWERD Nutrition Counseling, LLC. Jamie has nearly 10 years of experience working within clinical inpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP) and outpatient eating disorder care settings (including serving as the Lead Clinical Dietitian within Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Eating Disorders Program), and is recognized by the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals for her expertise in treating children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition from Miami University and completed her dietetic internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Jamie does not prescribe weight loss nor promote suppressive dieting practices. Rather, she utilizes an evidence-based, non-diet approach to empower clients to restore healthier relationships with food and reconnect with their bodies. She is a Health At Every Size®-aligned clinician, and is committed to respecting body diversity, challenging the influence of diet culture and weight stigma, and honoring the lived experience of each individual.
Working in partnership with her clients, Jamie draws from a variety of therapeutic techniques, including family-based therapy (FBT/Maudsley Method), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), intuitive eating (body sensation and emotional eating awareness), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, food chaining (expanding variety and improving novel food acceptance) and exposure and response prevention (ERP), to support the discovery of patterns that enhance their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
